Goodbye Vienna :(

Last Days
Too many sad goodbyes...
Goodbye to rooming with Ale :( we've definitely had too many great times to count while rooming together! from dance parties to train rides to dorky glasses at the naschmarkt...its been great.
Goodbye to Billa and Spar and the aisles that are dedicated solely to chocolate.
Goodbye hot dog meat. I won't miss you.
Goodbye public transportation; namely Bus 40A, Shottenring and the U2, and the U-bahn. You've been great. Also street cars D and 1, but not 2 cause all you ever did was get me lost.
Goodbye Opera house. You are beautiful and I enjoyed looking at you out the window everyday during class. Also, I enjoyed watching the ballet and watching 2 1/2 hours of a 5 hour opera. P.S. Sorry I left early.
Goodbye Kartnerstrasse. Even though I just learned your name three days ago, I walked/shopped on you almost daily, even if I only used you to get to Zanoni.
Goodbye to my favorite cathedral that I've walked by every day for the past three months.
Goodbye beautiful city of Vienna.
Luckily I get to take all these guys home with me or I would be very sad :)

Last Monday

I went back to the Belvedere with Ale cause I love it that much and had to see it again before i left. Unfortunately the lady told me that the free ticket for those up to 19 didn't include you if you were already nineteen. So...i might have snuck in to the Belvedere with my old ticket stub (that i got for free the first time).

Street shot of the main shopping road.
It will be weird to not be able to walk by this amazing cathedral every day!

One Week Left :(

Saturday I visited the Belvedere which in my opinion, it is the BEST museum in the world. Really. I've never had so much fun at a museum! There are two buildings, the upper and lower, and i loved the exhibits in both.

Flaming June. I sat in front of this painting for a good ten minutes, just sitting there looking at it. It was gorgeous.
The Kiss. This is probably the most cliche picture by Gustav Klimt, but it was amazing in person. Larger than life and had sheets of real gold in it.
This was another favorite, by Gustav's brother Ernst. I love how different their art is. Gustav's earlier works looked similar to this which surprised me because his well known art like the kiss is so different.
Monday night i went up this tower....
...to get these pictures.

Best Friday Ever

We started the day off at Schonbrunn palace and went to the oldest zoo in the world.
The gardens surrounding the palace and zoo are gorgeous!

Later that night we decided to go to Prater amusement park! Emperor Franz Joseph officially opened the park in 1766that’s before America was even born in case you forgot. Crazy!!

We rode the famous giant Ferris wheel and took some pictures in the gift shop.

After the Ferris wheel, we walked around the park for a bit until finding the ultimate amusement park ride.

It is the most intense ride I have EVER been on.

This is a really bad and blurry picture of it, but at least it gives you an idea. You go around in a giant circle while spinning around and upside down in your chair of four people back to back.

Half way through the ride, they stop you at the top for a good while. We all thought we were done, but it was only half way over.

I screamed the ENTIRE time while Krystle did her nervous laugh next to me. (it's more fun that way).

This is us after the ride. I was still a little dizzy....Easily the best ride i have ever been on. I still can't get the picture of the whole amusement park upside down out of my head.

Hallstatt, Austria

The group went to Hallstatt this weekend and it was so pretty! It made me miss Coeur 'd Alene though, especially when we rented paddle boats and floated around on the lake.

Castle on the side of the lake. We asked who lived there and were told it was the 'pork man'.

This is the window of the hostel we stayed at.

Pear tree growing on someone's house.

View from our restaurant

This was probably my favorite meal of my whole trip! Vegetables with noodles and sheep cheese sauce.

Maria looking gorgeous!

"I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person."
